Hey Y'aaaaaallll!!!!
Happy mid-Summer! Vacation bible school, summer camp(s), music festivals, mission trips, Montreat trips, and road trips, 90-degree weather, swimming pools, bathing suits, sunscreen, picnics, ice cream excursions. Or maybe you've just hanging out home all summer. Or maybe you got a job! (Congratulations.) Either way, I hope everybody has been having a nice time. I also hope that you are challenging yourselves some, as well. AND, I hope you'll schedule it into your lives to be a part of youth group some during the upcoming school year. I hope to have a calendar with dates, etc, out by mid-August, so stay tuned for that. More importantly, I want every youth to know that regardless of how often you are able to engage and be active with us in person, you still have a place here at Dutch Neck Pres.
One thing I've been asking youth lately, and would like feedback on, is the following: What do you need?
We hear a lot in our culture about“What do you want?”and “having it our way”...but wants and needs are very different.
So, what do you neeeeeeed?
If you'd like to share, you can by either emailing, texting, snapchatting, or facebooking me. Or, through dutchneckyouth.org under the title,“What Do You Need?”
What do I, Ben Johnson, need? I need people who support me, challenge me, and bring out the best in me.
Blessings to you all this Summer!
You Belong Here,
Ben J
P.S. BIG thanks to all the folks who helped out with Vacation Bible Camp. It was a pleasure to get to be around you all, and we couldn't have done it without you!
“Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What will we eat?' or 'What will we drink?' or 'What will we wear?' For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”Matthew 6:31-33
“I know what it is to have little, and I know what it is to have plenty. In any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having plenty and of being in need.”- Philippians 4:12
Upcoming:
Youth Group Kickoff/Parent's Night– September 7th
BASH-IN-THE-GRASS #2 – September 14
Fellowship (Kickball) – September 21
